STEPUPIORS PIs Dr Milena Cavic and Prof. Makis Zoidakis participated as lecturers at the 5th International Summer School on  Circular Bio-economy and Sustainable Development organized by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in Thessaloniki, Greece, and online.
Dr Cavic presented project aims through implementing principles of circular bio-economy and sustainable development in the establishment of a first cancer Biobank and Research Management Office at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia, while Prof Zoidakis presented information concerning the contribution of proteomics to sustainable development.
The summer school was very useful for familiarization with current trends in bioeconomy, with Increased interest particularly in the Balkan region. New aspects and perspectives in sustainability and development were delivered highlighting  hands-on student involvement. Vivid discussions led to new ideas and collaborative approaches for future grant applications aimed at sustainable scientific research.
